Tabuelan Attractions :)

The Municipality of Tabuelan boasts of several natural spots such as beaches, islets, caves, springs and rivers. It is best for either adventure or retreat. When your sanity is at the verge of giving up or when your soul is worn out, take a three-hour ride away from the city and relax.
If strenuous activities give you total relaxation, go spelunking and trekking with your friends and comrades. If you prefer to be alone, indulge yourself with a refreshing buko juice under the shade of some trees, lulled by the sea breeze. Both will surely soothe and invigorate your worn-out souls.
The town of Tabuelan has a reputation for offering little in the way of surface beauty, but its beaches make up for what the town lacks. If you can get past the roadside vendor stalls selling underwear and general lack of scenery you can find a decent selection of places to eat in town that sell fresh seafood at ridiculous prices.
Accommodation is best pursued along the beach, where several nice mid-range resorts offer quiet rooms that are great value. The sand is white and soft and the waters calm enough for swimming. Some of the resorts offer water sports options to add some activity to your beach lounging.
Tubuelan is has also something to offer for tourist who prefer to stay at coastal environment. It’s white sand and crystal clear waters make it an ideal destination. Several resorts are available in near proximity such as the Durhan White beach Resort, La Familia Beach Resort, Guilly Rose Beach Resort, Maravilla Beach Resort and New Tabuelan Beach Resort.

Here are some of the Tabuelan’s famous attractions:

Ani-Anihan sa Tabuelan Festival

The town comes alive in merriment, street dancing parade, agro-trade fairs, beauty pageant and other fun activities in this annual fiesta celebration in honor of St. John the Baptist which takes place every 24th day of June.
The government of Tabuelan came with a concept of showcasing the town’s prime economic mover, agriculture. The mardi gras showcases dance steps depicting the planting and harvesting season of crops. It is also a form of thanksgiving in the bountiful harvests.

Tangub Cave

This cave, found in barangay Poblacion, is very difficult to enter because accordingly, it shakes whenever someone stepped into it. Scary though, but the excitement of seeing exotic animals inside the cave is quite overwhelming. There are wild snakes, numbers of species of bats and “kwahaw”, a kind of bird that sounds when El Niño is approaching.

But there is more interesting discoveries. Upon entrance, two pathways will lead you to two different sightings. One leads to the location where a stone table can be found, while the other leads to the whereabouts of the coffin of Mr. Vidal Arellano. Treasures were said to be found near the coffin however, the American took it including the remains of Mr. Arellano, a native in Tabuelan which believed to be 12 feet in height and known as the “Giant of the East”.

Other Caves

Barangay Bongon has many caves which are equally interesting to visit. These are the Kanlunkab Cave, Gumbang Cave, Sangi Cave, Kampatok Cave, Kantakuyan Cave and the Timbaon Cave. Kantakuyan and Timbaon Caves were used to be shelters by humans and animals alike.

Primo Garcia Cave, also known as Ingko Primo Cave is another cave at Barangay Mabunao. The Dalid Caves at Barangay Dalid is known for its massiveness and used as hideaway or as “tabo-an” (marketplace) by the people. Kabagtongan Cave is located at Barangay Kantubaon while Badia Cave is at Barangay Olivo and the Tibgawan or Adolfo Salubre Cave at Barangay Tigbawan.

Rivers

There are several rivers also such as Batawang River, Quimod River, Sta. Cruz River, Ilaya River, Sinungkolan River, Kantakuyan River, Owangan River, Bongon River, Kanlungcab River, and Olivo River.

Waterfalls and Springs

There is a waterfall in Tabuelan, the Owangan/ Inambakan Waterfalls. There are also springs, the Gumbang Spring, Ilaya Spring and the Tigbawan Spring.

Hills and Mountains

To reminisce the once disastrous past of Tabuelan, a trip to Otoy Hills and Gumbang Hills are encouraged. The former is the place wher Justo Arendain was skinned to death by a Japanese soldier while the latter is the site where almost 300 people died during the attacks of the Americans against the Japanese. Barangay Bongon is a mountain barangay where valleys and mountains are found.

Islets and Sanctuaries

Other natural heritages of Tabuelan are the unique formations of its rock islets, the Tigbawan and Tabakalera Islets in Barangay Tigbawan and Olivo respectively. It is also completed with underwater paradise, the marine sanctuaries of Giwanon and Olivo.

Great Experiences !!

La Familia and Maravilla are one of the hottest resort in town that make your eyes see the goodness of white sand beach.
Let your self feel the fresh air came from the sea and relax your self from the strees of the crowded city.

Super nice beach, clean, and white sand!

A great place to discover!
